Episode 3: Kick off Meeting

Storyline

The interns begin a new project: building an interactive website to help company employees learn about cybersecurity. Some have never created a website before, but all are eager to learn.

To prepare, their instructor introduces important internet-related vocabulary. By the end of the lesson, the interns feel more confident and ready to continue.

Learning Objectives

By completing this episode, students will be able to:

  1. Talk about and discuss work and class schedules, employee ID card, and company-provided amenities.

  2. Identify and define key internet-related terms such as “website,” “web address,” “browser,” “search engine,” and “server” in English and explain the difference between a browser and a search engine using examples (e.g., Google Chrome vs. Google Search) in their own words.

  3. Engage in a basic discussion about internet tools by expressing what they already know and asking for clarification on unfamiliar terms.

  4. Explain the Chinese Lunch Break as an integral part of daily life and work culture in China and its differences with the siesta in southern America
