Hello Friends,
While there are numerous resources for learning Chinese, finding materials that cover specialized cybersecurity and computer-related concepts can be challenging. Learn Chinese Learn Cyber (LCLC) is pioneering book designed to bridge this gap, combining Mandarin language learning with essential cybersecurity terminology and basic concepts. We hope both teachers and students will find this book valuable for teaching and learning Chinese language while exploring cyber-related content.
This book is the beginning level of LCLC, an Open Educational Resources supported by a three-year grant from International and Foreign Language Education. It consists of five episodes with a total of 10 lessons, each advancing the storyline while providing interactive exercises to enforce vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension of the content. Additionally, each lesson enhances learning with cultural notes, sentence structures, and cybersecurity tips. Click on each episode title to view storyline and learning objectives of each episode.
Learning Mandarin is a complex journey, so don’t be discouraged if the material seems challenging initially. Here are few suggestions to help you make the best use this resource.
- While this book is designed with beginning learners in mind, you can start at the level that best matches your Chinese pruriency.
- You can use this book as your primary textbook or as supplementary materials to support your learning.
We understand the challenge of learning Chinese and Cyber-related content at the same. To support your learning, we have created a complement mobile application–LCLC–where you can practice vocabulary through interactive, game-based activities. The App is available for free download on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store .
Immerse yourself in our story by stepping into the shoes of our four fictional interns and advancing your Mandarin vocabulary as they navigate the workplace. We hope you enjoy the journey.
Sincerely,
