1.8 Cybersecurity Tips


If you find a USB drive(U盘) in the company parking lot or other common area. It is NOT safe to plug it into your computer to determine the contents. There could be Malware on the USB drive(U盘).

Secure your laptop computer (电脑) with a strong password. Do not use the same password for every website. That way if there is a breach at your favorite store’s online shopping website, a hacker(黑客) cannot try the breached password and access your credit card and bank accounts.

Some people prefer to cover the web camera(摄像头) on their computers with a sticker when not in use. It is possible for a hacker(黑客) to access the webcam.

 

Use Strong Passwords(密码): Combine letters, numbers, and symbols. Avoid using the same password(密码) for multiple accounts.

Enable Two-Factor Authentication: Add an extra layer of security to your accounts.

Be Wary of Phishing: Don’t click on suspicious links or attachments in emails or text messages.

Update Software Regularly: Install updates to fix security vulnerabilities.

Backup Data: Regularly back up important files to prevent data loss from attacks.

Use Secure Wi-Fi: Avoid public Wi-Fi for sensitive transactions, or use a VPN.

 

Limit Sharing on Social Media: Be cautious about sharing personal information(信息) publicly.
